The only yacht club on the eastern shore of Carlyle Lake. We're not yuppies and we're not yachters — we're real people who love time on the water. Sailors, racers, paddlers, newcomers, and old salts alike.
Who We Are
Boulder Yacht Club is a sailing organization whose members call Boulder Marina their home port. Despite differences in age, background, or boat preference, many of us grow to think of each other as a second family. We're united by a shared passion for time on the water and a commitment to promoting safe boating practices.
We give back through our Annual Charity Dinner, raising funds for local organizations including Backstoppers, Hannah's Playground, Got Your Six, and Miracles in Progress.
BYC is also home to Sea Scout Ship 9 — engaging young people in nautical activities, seamanship skills, leadership, and community service.

On the Water
BYC enjoys a uniquely casual approach to sailboat racing. We race to practice and sharpen handling and navigational skills, but also to enjoy time with friends new and old. For those who associate racing with yelling skippers, BYC Racing offers a refreshing change of pace.
We hold 8 club races per season, including three lake-wide regattas open to all sailors and clubs across Carlyle Lake. The club plans social events following most races — the fun doesn't stop at the finish line.
Everyone is welcome: crew on another boat, race your own, set marks, or assist the race committee. Green and salty sailors alike.

Participants from other clubs must give advance notice so we can plan accordingly. See the BYC Facebook page for race-specific info.

Join the Club
BYC membership is open to all boaters — sailors, racers, cruisers, kayakers, paddleboarders, and pontoon captains. You don't need to own a boat to join; crewing is a great way to start.
Members gain access to all club events, the racing program, social calendar, and a community that will help you become a better sailor — or at least a better partier.
